The Immunology community at The University of Kansas Medical Center is spread across several basic science and clinical departments. Members of Immunology laboratories meet bi-weekly for research discussions. Also participating in the bi-weekly meetings are members of immunology laboratories from KU-Lawrence and Children’s Mercy. These meetings have resulted in productive collaborations and provide an excellent atmosphere for training future immunologists.
The research areas covered in this group of immunologists include a broad list of topics, such as: T cell development, T cell activation and differentiation, reproductive immunology, T and B cell signal transduction, lymphocyte migration and motility, leukemogenesis, mast cell biology, innate immune responses to pathogens, cardiovascular immunology and tumor immunology.
Participating investigators:
Individuals interested in immunology as an area of graduate or postdoctoral studies are encouraged to contact investigators directly. Graduate students may apply either to the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences (IGPBS) or directly to the departments to which the faculty is a member. Postdoctoral candidates may view the website for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs for further information.
