Prior to your first day:

For your convenience, all required paperwork that may be completed before your first day of work is available here. Bring completed forms from both modules with you on or before your first day of work to expedite the process of getting your ID badge.


Bring the following documentation with you on your first day of work:

  • Driver's License or Passport (see List of Acceptable Documents)
  • Original signed Social Security Card (no receipts)
  • Canceled check for direct deposit (no deposit slips)
  • All completed forms ( I-9 form with Section 1 completed, Invention Agreement, etc.) from the New Hire Forms.
    NOTE: Blank forms will be available during the Meet & Greet or in the Employee Service Center -1044 Delp if you do not complete paper work before your first day.

What to expect...

The Meet and Greet

Join us for a continental breakfast where you'll learn about health insurance and retirement options from the Benefits staff, meet other new employees, and get answers regarding pay cycles, parking, and other job-related questions. You will be scheduled for a Meet and Greet on the first Monday of your employment from 8:30 am - 11:30 am.

HR Business Partners will be on-hand during the Meet and Greet to assist in completion of any New Hire Forms (I-9, New Hire Forms, etc.) which will culminate in processing your ID Badge.

Note: Students, Temporaries and Part-Time employees working less than 50% are may attend but are not required to attend our Meet & Greet.

The Online HR Orientation

Access the Online HR Orientation via the button below if you have not done so prior to your first day. The orientation takes you through important information about your employment experience with KUMC. Upon completion of this orientation, you will be asked to provide information about yourself for your Human Resources Employment History. You must complete the Online HR Orientation within your first 30 days of employment with KUMC.

Compliance Training

Once you have your username and password, you will need to login to myKUMC to complete the training modules listed below. You must complete these training modules within your first 30 days of employment with KUMC. Once you login, select the "Training" link, then "Chalk Online Training." The following modules are listed under your REQUIRED annual training:

  • Computer Security Awareness Training
  • Environment, Health & Safety Tutorial
  • Respect in the Classroom and Workplace: Preventing Prohibited Harassment
  • Workplace Violence Training

As a new employee, you are also required to complete the training module under Additional Training:

  • KUMC Policies for New Employees

Occupational Health Appointment

All new KUMC state employees are required to visit the Occupational Health Clinic (OHC) within two weeks (10 working days) of the date of hire for a health screening. Schedule your new employee evaluation by calling the OHC at 588-6512.

The Occupational Health Clinic (OHC) provides employees of KUMC clinical occupational health services needed to maintain a healthy and safe work environment. All services are provided at no cost to the employee.
