ObjectiveThe Fifth International Symposium is a joint venture with INSERM, and the University of Montpellier Medical School, FRANCE. The format of the Symposium will consist of a Symposium address, state-of-the-art lectures, speaker presentations, and two poster sessions.
The goal of the Fifth International Symposium is to focus on major developments in the rapidly expanding field of Hormonal Carcinogenesis and Hormonal Cancers. A novel format for these Symposia will be used to integrate different disciplines and approaches in each of the sessions, whenever possible, to include basic science, epidemiology, and clinical research. Each session will focus on a specific aspect of a hormone-related cancer. Information gathered from cell-free systems, cell cultures, animal models, and human studies, together will provide important insights to our understanding of hormonal cancer causation, development, and prevention; the primary objective of these Symposia. A special emphasis will continue to be placed on the two major endocrine-related cancers, that is, BREAST and PROSTATE. Other highly relevant cancers to be addressed are OVARIAN and ENDOMETRIAL. Emerging fields that will be examined are COLON, LUNG, and PANCREATIC CANCERS in relation to hormones. In order to have the fifth volume of Hormonal Carcinogenesis to be as representative as possible, we will continue our policy to have all primary and poster presentations included in the proceedings volume. Springer-Verlag, New York, has agreed to continue its support by publishing these proceedings. We look forward to your participation. Scientific Program
La Grande MotteThe site of the 5th International Symposium on Hormonal Carcinogenesis will be held in Southern France. Situated in the "Golfe du Lion" on the Mediterranean Sea, la Grande Motte is a beautiful city incorporating water, nature, sky and sun, often considered a "green oasis". La Grand Motte is a short distance from the city of Montpellier, and 3 hours 15 minutes from Paris by train.
The Great Pyramid, inspired by the Inca temples in Mexico, is the symbolic feature of la Grande Motte. This architectural form allows the terraces to always be in sunshine, while at the same time, protecting foliage from the sea sprays. La Grande Motte offers activities to suit everyone's taste, including beaches, a nautical center for boating or windsurfing, golf, tennis, an open-air theater, a variety of shops, a casino, an aquarium, and acres of well-landscaped parks and walking paths. |
