KUCC ACS-IRG (American Cancer Society - Institutional Research Grants) - next call for proposals will be posted in Fall 2014.
The University of Kansas Cancer Center announces the availability of funding from an American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant for career development of junior faculty by providing funding to conduct cancer-related research pilot projects. These awards are restricted to junior faculty of the KU system (KUMC, KU-L, KU-Wichita) who are within 6 years of their first independent faculty appointment and who do not currently hold an individual national competitive research grant (NIH, ACS, Komen, etc.). It is not required that one be a current member of the Cancer Center.
Based on response and the quality of the proposals, 3-4 pilot projects awards will be made of $35,000 each. At least one of these awards will go to an area of special interest to the ACS, i.e., psychosocial and behavioral research, health policy or health services research, cancer in the poor and medically underserved, and childhood cancer.
