Are there any fees for your office's services?
No, we are not charging any fees for our services to KUCC members.

Is institutional routing to the KUMC Research Institute (RI) required before proposal submission?
Yes, our office will forward the proposal to the Research Institute for institutional review and approval, by the internal deadlines set by the RI.

Is your office able to submit proposals to the sponsoring agency directly?
In general, no. If the agency requires an institutional submission of the proposal (like most of the federal agencies do), we are not able push the "submit" button. These proposals will be submitted by the Research Institute. If the agency allows investigator submission or if it's a paper submission, then we are able to submit it on behalf of the PI, after all the institutional signatures are obtained.

Do pre-applications or letters of intent need to go through institutional routing?
In general, no. But if the pre-application forms require a budget or a signature from the authorized official representative, then yes, it needs to be routed to the RI for institutional review and signature.

Who is our institutional or the authorized official representative for grant proposal applications?
For our institution, it is Dr. Gregory Kopf, Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration.
