Participants in this project explore clinical applications of new genetic biotechnology, and the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of the Human Genome Project. Teachers network with peers and genetic professionals, and dissemninate genetics information to students, colleagues and the public.

Participation involves
four phases over two school years:
This project updates participants on applications of the Human Genome Project, focusing on the ethical, legal, and social implications of the new biotechnology through didactic interactions with experts and families affected by genetic conditions. Additional topics include: genetic screening, genetic testing, public policy issues, careers, genetic resources, classroom curriculum materials, and collaborations with genetic professionals through computer networks.
