To learn about basic patterns of human inheritance, to research a particular human genetic condition, to construct a pedigree chart, to present the research to the class.
- Description of Activities:
Students prepare a pamphlet on an inherited human condition to present information to clients who come to genetic counseling centers with basic information on the genetic condition. Basic information that should be presented includes: the inheritance pattern of the condition, characteristics of the condition, special interest groups for the condition, therapy for the condition, and other information concerning the condition, as well as a bibliography.
