Genetic Counseling Services and Evaluations involve consultations for patients concerned about:

  • a hereditary condition in their family
  • a child with a birth defect or mental retardation
  • other genetic or rare conditions
  • family cancer syndromes
  • genetic testing
  • other conditions and issues

  • Patients may refer themselves, however, insurance providers may require a referral
  • Medical records are frequently helpful to review during a genetic clinic visit, these can be requested from a primary care provider in advance, and faxed to our office, indicating your name and appointment date on the fax (fax number 913.588.4060)
  • The name of established medical provider(s) can be helpful for communication with regarding issues such as followup management
  • Completion of a family history form can be helpful
