Site Description: The site is used by teachers, students, genetic counselors, geneticists, other health care professionals, families, and other educators. There are three interlinked main home pages:

II. Genetic conditions and support groups www.kumc.edu/gec/support/ - for individuals and families with genetic conditions or birth defects, genetic counselors, clinical geneticists, and medical geneticists

Site Utilization:
The site consists of over 550 internal pages, with links to over 3,000 external pages. The site is maintained by a Genetic Counselor with support from an advisory panel of geneticists and librarians, as well as technical support from University of Kansas web development unit. Over 18,000 sites link to pages within the site.
Approximately 140,000 pages are accessed weekly (excluding hits to graphics and internal use of the site). This represents approximately 86,000 visits each week, as determined using WebTrends. Each visit lasts several minutes to hours. However, a 30-minute interruption ends a visit.
Site maintenance:
Regular site reports are used to evaluate site utilization and effectiveness. Summary reports are evaluated to update links and maintain the site.
