The last ten years has been an astounding era for the University of Kansas Medical Center. In that time, we have seen our rankings among the top medical schools in the country climb, our research funding more than double and significant growth in the quality and reach of our innovative patient care. Although we have never lost sight of the fact our primary mission is to increase the health and well-being of Kansans, it has been exciting to watch the Medical Center’s national profile rise over the past decade.

On Saturday, October 9, 2010, we will celebrate this Decade of Progress as part of our 2010 KU Medical Center Gala.

The Gala is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge not only the work of the Medical Center – our outstanding students, faculty, staff, and alumni – but also to honor the tremendous efforts of our countless community partners, who are equally as committed to enhancing the health and economy of our region.

Proceeds raised from the event will be directly returned to the community, benefitting the JayDoc Free Clinic and Silver City Health Center, both of which serve the uninsured and underinsured of Kansas City. Health care is a basic human necessity and organizations like JayDoc and Silver City allow that necessity to become a reality for thousands of people in need.

We hope to see you October 9 as we affirm our shared commitment to progress.
