Maintenance Services

Operations and maintenance is the responsibility of FM's Maintenance Services (MS) division. The mission of the Maintenance Services division is to provide safe and reliable building systems, to maintain an environment which supports education, research, and patient care within the Medical Center complex.

Emergencies

For failure of critical equipment or utilities, flooding conditions, or similar problems that pose imminent danger to health, or substantial loss to scientific research, buildings, or equipment, please call ext. 8-7928. This telephone number is always answered by the Customer Service Center, Night Maintenance or by the KUMC Police Department who will radio FM personnel.

Facilities Customer Service

The focal point for Customer assistance is the FM Customer Service Center. Building problems should be reported by calling ext. 8-7928 or contacting Facilities Customer Service via email. Other services provided are keys, signs, and discretionary work, such as special painting, moving, special carpet or other miscellaneous services.

Zone Maintenance Philosophy

The Campus is divided into four zones: North, North-Central, South-Central, and South (see Zone Maintenance Map - PDF). Each zone has been assigned a Zone Maintenance Team to maintain the buildings within the zone.
