Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory

Online Forms -Flow Cytometry Core Laboratory

The flow core also houses a biosafety cabinet, incubator, and centrifuge so that cells can be cultured and treated within the core.

Instrumentation
These instruments were purchased through a generous endowment from the Hall Foundation with the exception of the Calibur which was donated by the KUMC Dept of Medicine. The day to day operation is maintained by NIH Grant Number P20 RR016443 from the COBRE program of the National Center for Research Resources.

  • Luminex 200 – A flexible analyzer based on the principles of flow cytometry that is designed to meet the needs of  research and clinical laboratories. Built on xMAP technology, this system allows multiplexing of up to 100 analytes in a single well of a microtiter plate, using very small sample volumes and is compatible with kits designed for the Luminex 100 instrument. The system delivers fast and cost-effective bioassay results on many assay formats including nucleic acid assays,
receptor-ligand assays, immunoassays and enzymatic assays.  Kits are available from a number of companies for a wide range of species.
