Highlights for KUMC faculty and staff


Construction updates: The weekend closures related to the Cambridge North Tower pedestrian bridge construction have been extended through May 13-16. Next, work on the bridge skin will begin May 23, which will reduce traffic lanes. Read more.

Resident, Postdoc and Fellow Research Forum: This forum will take place May4–6 and will feature speakers, including Bill Neaves, Ph.D., Stowers Institute, and Jim Calvet, Ph.D., and Alan Yu, MB, BChir, professors; oral and poster presentations from residents, post-docs and fellows; and an awards ceremony. Health Fair: Celebrate Older Americans Month at the Landon Center on Aging wellness fair, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. May 6. Free screenings, free hot dog lunch and education will be offered at the fair. View flyer.


Christopher Crenner, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of history and philosophy of medicine, has been elected president of the American Association for the History of Medicine. He will be the third chair of history of medicine at KU Medical Center to hold the office.
