The University of Kansas Medical Center is pleased to announce its first annual sustainability week event. This inaugural event will take place the week of April 24 on the main campus, 3901 Rainbow Blvd, Kansas City, KS 66101.
Help KU Medical Center celebrate Earth Day and the one-year anniversary of the revamped recycling program during Sustainability Week, sponsored by the KUMC Recycling Committee, Office of Student Life, Human Resources and Landscaping Services.

Learn ways to help preserve our planet and reduce our carbon footprint, adopt healthier lifestyles, get in touch with nature and enjoy the benefits of our trees and forests.
Sustainability Information Sharing Session
Wednesday, April 26, noon-1 p.m., 1025 Orr-Major
Hear updates on recycling and sustainability efforts on campus and improvements in landscaping/botanical gardens.
Thursday, April 27, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Murphy Courtyard (Francisco Lounge in event of inclement weather)
Take part in interactive displays and activities, donate gently used books for Reach Out and Read KC, recycle your old cell phones, recycle old computers and accessories (KU Medical Center employees/students only) as well as glass, printer cartridges, etc., meet and learn about sustainability vendors and partners, and enjoy free fruit bars, churros and flavored water, take part in courtyard games, and win raffle prizes.
Monday, May 1, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Murphy Courtyard (Hixson Atrium in event of inclement weather)
Enjoy free food, lawn games and giveaways. Leadership will present the first-ever sustainability awards at noon. University ID badge required.
* All members of the KU Medical Center community, including faculty, staff, students and the Kansas City, Kansas community at large are welcome to attend the Sustainability Fair April 27.
