Welcome to Checking In
I believe KU Medical Center has many outstanding accomplishments to celebrate. These past few years, we have made great strides in producing top results in education, research, and in our community. We have exceptional students, staff and faculty who work hard every day, and one of the ways I want to share the results of their hard work with the KU family is through this new e-newsletter - Checking In. This is by no means an exhaustive list of our accomplishments or announcements, but rather a highlight of how we excel in many different areas. I plan on using this column as an opportunity to share the latest developments and priorities for KUMC. I will send out the e-newsletter every two weeks, and if you feel like commenting or you want to share your good news, please feel free to e-mail me at checkingin@kumc.edu. It is my hope that this online newsletter will bolster the lines of communication through all sectors of this exemplary Medical Center.

Community I am urging all campus employees to volunteer 8 hours in 2008 to help make a difference in our community. With the launch of the 8 in '08 campaign, a number of volunteer opportunities are listed on our Web site, or you can come up with your own idea. Either way, we have an opportunity to make a tremendous impact. Please contact Paula Baum at 8-1017 for more information or read more about our 8 in '08 program online.
