Medical Surveillance

Working with hazardous substances can cause injury or illness. In order to ensure that faculty, staff, and students avoid unnecessary exposures and risks, certain personnel are monitored with periodic examinations. EHS works in coordination with the Hospital's Occupational Health Clinic to provide medical surveillance services such as physical examinations, biological testing and other medical surveillance needs as required.

The types of services provided to KUMC employees are:

  • OSHA Respiratory Exams and evaluations
  • Animal Care Surveillance
  • Audiometric Testing and Surveillance
  • Vaccinations and TIters
  • TB Surveillance
  • Asbestos worker exams and evaluations

If you would like an assessment of the type of Medical Surveillance you should be part of, please contact the EHS office at ehs@kumc.edu or fill out the Job Hazard Screening form.
