Glomerulus. Mouse (385313) |
The glomerulus is formed by closely packed
capillary loops. The capillary endothelial cells are fenestrated. This
mouse was perfused to clear blood from its vascular system before
fixation, therefore these capillaries are essentially empty. Cell bodies
of 3 podocytes covering the outer surface of the capillaries are shown
in a row in the upper field. A mesangial cell sitting between the
capillaries is in the lower middle field.
