Deborah Jungrim Moon, MA, MSW, Ph.D. Candidate

Deborah is a Ph.D. Candidate in the department of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas. As a research coordinator at KUCTT, Deborah provides leadership and assistance in planning, designing, and conducting program evaluation activities for various nationally funded research projects under the supervision of the center director. Deborah completed a masters' degree in music therapy at New York University as well as in social work at the University of Maryland Baltimore. Prior to joining the center, Deborah provided music therapy and clinical mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health diagnoses. In particular, as a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, Deborah provided trauma therapies to children and adults with a history of trauma exposure. Currently, Deborah teaches undergraduate and graduate students in social work at the University of Kansas as a lecturer. Deborah brings in her clinical as well as research knowledge and skills in behavioral health and childhood trauma to further advance the center's mission to promote health and well-being of underserved populations in Kansas through community-engaged program implementation and research.
