Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators spring conference

Several KU Medical Center staff attended the Kansas Association of Health Care Communicators (KAHCC) spring conference in Emporia on April 19-20, 2018. Presentations included Marketing to Millennials and The Curious Case of the Health Care Consumer, as well as a Kansas media panel and a state and federal legislative update. During the evening networking event, attendees joined together at the Emporia Arts Council to enjoy an evening of dinner and painting.
Andrea Ellis, assistant director of Rural Health Education and Services, is currently serving as the KAHCC president. Both Rural Health Education and Services and Public Affairs from KU School of Medicine-Wichita received awards during the Emerald Awards luncheon. Rural Health Education and Services received an Emerald Award for the Healthcare Heroes Category of the Rural Kansas Photo Contest, and Public Affairs was awarded a Certificate of Merit for Embark KU, a yearly publication by KU School of Medicine-Wichita.
