Patient Blood Management and Transfusion Safety Update 2018 - Kansas City

Description: We will explore the current state of transfusion safety and multidisciplinary patient blood management strategies that mitigate patients' risk with blood and blood products. We will host international speakers who will discuss the latest in transfusion therapy and anemia management.

Description: Movement disorders have become a defined sub-specialty of neurology. Movement disorders include Parkinson's disease and parkinsonian syndromes, essential tremor and other tremor disorders, restless legs syndrome, Tourette syndrome, chorea and tic disorders, dystonic disorders, Huntington's disease and other hyperkinetic disorders.  The course consists of short lectures on various areas of movement disorders, use of videos to demonstrate different conditions and outcomes and questions and answer sessions with the participants to address questions, points of confusion, difficult cases they may be dealing with, etc. Attendees can also bring video clips of difficult patients to get advice on diagnosis and treatment options from the faculty during the case presentations section of the course.

Imaging in the Ozarks - 2018

Description: Online informational tutorials that cover the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. There are 10 Modules with a pre- and post-test.  This training meets the State of Kansas' training requirements for Respite and Parent Support Providers. This level of training is recommended for individuals who provide temporary direct care and supervision for a child with autism or who provide peer-to-peer support for parents of children with autism. Respite (Online only)-$200 online informational tutorials that cover the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. There are 10 Modules with a pre- and post-test. These tutorials are mandatory only if a trainee scores less than 90% on the pre-test. This training meets the State of Kansas' training requirements for Respite and Parent Support Providers. Registration for this online course is $200.00.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:  No refunds will be granted for this training once the trainee has accessed the online training modules. A full refund of registration fees, less a $50 administrative fee, will be approved if requested in writing at autismtraining@kumc.edu prior to accessing the online training. OASIS Direct Service Provider Training - November 5-7, 2018 - NCE194002

Location: University of Kansas Medical Center, KS

Description: Direct Service Provider Training This three day training covers the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. It is an intensive hybrid training experience consisting of online training modules, interactive lecture, hands-on training with a child with ASD in clinic, and independent activities. This training meets the State of Kansas' training requirements for the Intensive Individual Support Provider. This training also is based on the RBT Task List and is designed to meet the 40-hour training requirement for the RBT credential. The program is offered independent of the BACB. This level of training is recommended for individuals who are working at a one-on-one level with children with autism.  Trainees must be present the 3 days of training. Training consists of 2 components:

  1. Online informational tutorials: Ten modules with a pre- and post-test. These tutorials are mandatory.

  2. Lecture and Clinic: These days will be split between interactive lecture and time spent in clinic training.

Registration for this 3 day course is $500.00.

OASIS Behavioral Specialist Training - November 8-9, 2018

Description: Behavioral Specialist Training This is a two day training intended for individuals who will operate at the behavioral consultant level. The training will cover behavioral intervention plans, function of behavior, peer networks, criterion referenced assessments, and program development. This training meets the State of Kansas' training requirements for Autism Specialist.

Behavior Specialist- This level of training is designed specifically for individuals who currently have extensive experience providing ABA intervention (including discrete trail teaching) and hold a Master's degree or above. This training is intended for individuals who will operate at the behavior consultant level.  

Trainees must be present for the two days of training.  Training consists of 2 components:

  1. Online informational tutorials: Ten modules with a pre- and post-test.  These tutorials are mandatory.
  2. Assessment Training: This training consists of two consecutive days at the University Of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS and will consist of lecture and experiential training on functional assessment, with the opportunity to observe/participate in a functional analysis.  

Refund/Cancellation Policy: No refunds will be granted for this training once the trainee has accessed the online training modules. Neurosciences Update 2018

2018 Kansas Opioid Conference
