Style Guide

The University of Kansas Medical Center Style Guide, produced by the Office of Public Affairs, is a supplement to the Associated Press Stylebook and Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition. In cases of conflict, the University Style Guide supersedes the AP Stylebook and AP supersedes Webster's.

We have placed this style guide online as a service for KUMC writers and editors. Entries address style questions that arise frequently in writing about the Medical Center, as well as local style concerns such as building and place names and proper reference to various KUMC entities.
