Schedule your biometric screening and earn your HealthQuest Rewards points

The second year of our HealthQuest (HQ) Rewards Program began August 1, 2012, and will run through July 31, 2013. To earn the HQ reward for Plan Year 2014, you will need to complete the mandatory Health Assessment Questionnaire, which will earn you 10 credits. Then earn an additional 20 credits (for a total of 30) by July 31, 2013, and you will be eligible for the 2014 reward.

When you complete the Health Assessment, you will need your biometric numbers from an onsite screening, your personal physician, or a home kit. Take advantage of the free onsite screenings that will be held at KUMC Student Center's Francisco Lounge on the following dates.

About Biometric Screenings
Testing is conducted in 30 minutes or less using a simple finger stick. Results you will receive include:

  • Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and total cholesterol-to-HDL ratio
  • Triglycerides and glucose
  • Systolic and diastolic blood pressure
  • Height, weight and body mass index (BMI)
  • Waist circumference

Remember to fast for a minimum of nine hours prior to your appointment. Please drink water to stay hydrated; black coffee and tea are also okay (no cream or sugar). Take medications as usual.

Seventy-five percent of the members, state wide, are participating in the HQ Rewards Program and earned the premium incentive discount on their Plan Year 2013 premiums. Participation like this will help to decrease health risks and reduce healthcare costs, which is great news for the State Employee Health Plan.

Participation in the HQ Rewards Program is voluntary and confidential. All services are administered by Alere on behalf of HQ. To contact Alere about any of the programs, please call toll-free 1-888-275-1205 or go to www.kansashealthquest.com.
