In the coming weeks, kumc.edu will launch its fresh new design. The redesigned website will offer visitors a visually appealing and intuitive user experience. The homepage will more prominently tell the stories of what we're doing and how we're making a difference. Our four areas of emphasis - education, research, patient care, and community engagement - will also have a prominent presence on the homepage. Read more

PeopleSoft manuals: Two new help manuals, Absence Management and Reporting Time manuals, are available for employees and managers. These are in response to users' feedback on the new PeopleSoft HR 9.1 system. Read more.

Midwest Cancer Alliance (MCA) addition: Newman Regional Health in Emporia, Kan., has joined MCA as its newest Clinical Research Partner. MCA is comprised of cancer centers, research institutions, and health care organizations, and now has 20 members. The goal of MCA is to assure that individuals in our region can access the latest advancements in cancer care close to home. More about MCA.

Sign Capt. Baker's guest book: After 38 years of service, Brent Baker, police captain, will retire on April 2. Anyone who has had the opportunity to work with Capt. Baker may send congratulations and other well wishes here.

Walk Across Kansas: Sandra Billinger, Ph.D., PT, FAHA, spoke with Jill Chadwick of Time Warner's "Newsmakers" and explains her effort to raise money for stroke research programs at KU Medical Center during the Walk Across Kansas in May. Watch interview.

Know a student interested in becoming a nurse? The Nurse Academy is designed for students (high school juniors and seniors or college freshmen)  interested in exploring the profession of nursing through a two-day program full of hands-on activities and presentations. Read more.

On Match Day, March 15, School of Medicine students eagerly waited to learn where they would serve their residency years. Nearly half will go into primary care. Read more.

Debby Daniels, Ph.D., clinical associate professor in the KU Department of Hearing and Speech, created a quilt specifically for the KU Women's Basketball team and the Jayhawks for a Cure fundraising campaign. Read more.

Debra Sullivan, Ph.D., professor and chair, and Jeannine Goetz, Ph.D., assistant professor, Dietetics and Nutrition, School of Health Professions, received the KU Leading Light Award. Read more.
