Lessons learned from tornado drill

Despite some well timed restroom breaks, we had great participation for the March 5 tornado drill. As previously instructed, faculty, staff and students evacuated to their shelters at the sound of the alarms. The purpose of the drill was to prepare everyone for an actual event, but we were also able to identify improvement opportunities. Read more.

Conflict of interest updates: All faculty and staff should be aware of several changes related to conflict of interest, including a new person in charge and a new electronic process. Read more.    

Federal funds sequester: Federal budget cuts took effect on March 1 even though university and business leaders warned government officials about the consequences of the cuts. KU-Lawrence has prepared a resource page with information on what the cuts may mean for KU, prospects for a resolution, and more. Read more.

Interactive campus map: Parking services now has an interactive map for our employees and students. The map shows you the locations of all the clinical care facilities, emergency phones, major auditoriums, public parking and shuttle stops. You can get directions and more information by clicking on the red balloons. There is also a separate permit-only parking map. Try out the map.
