Be an energy Scrooge

Go ahead. Be like Ebenezer Scrooge when it comes to energy consumption.Scrooge

If you plan to be on vacation or otherwise away during the winter and holiday break, be sure to do a few checklist items before you leave:

  • Turn off your office lights and lamps.
  • Unplug any cords and turn off any power strips.
  • Turn off your computers, monitors and personal printers.
  • Set your manually controlled thermostat to 60 degrees.
  • Raise your blinds to take advantage of the sun's warming effects.
  • Close your office doors to trap in heat so your office will be warmer when you return.
  • Turn off shared printers and copiers if possible.

It's okay to think like Scrooge when it comes to reducing our energy consumption spending. By doing your part, we can make a positive difference in our utilities costs!
