Billing Information

Image acquisition time for the equipment is billed as follows:

• $30.00 per hour for the LSM 510 Laser Scanning Microscope
• $10.00 per hour for the Leica Laser Microdissection Microscope

The prices above are for researchers from all University of Kansas Medical Center departments and the Kansas State University system. This includes the services of the staff microscope operator and all CD-R media needed to copy images. Outside investigators are welcome to use the facility for the same fee schedule whenever there is time available on the instrument after institutional users needs are met. 

There is no additional charge for Image Processing time on the separate workstation(s) however advance reservation of time on the computers is recommended.

There is no charge for canceled reservations, unless in specific cases it becomes frequent enough to have a negative impact on other user's access to instrument time.

New users are encouraged to contact the facility for any questions regarding sample preparation or the use of the confocal microscope in their research. New users will not be charged for initial observations to determine if the confocal microscope can assist them in their research project.
