The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.W. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary Federal agency for improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable.
The Interprofessional Collaborative Acute care Practice ICAP-Peds grant will helped at-risk children and their family's transition smoothly from hospital to home to follow-up care. Our grant team worked with the KU hospital pediatric unit developing an interprofessional collaborative care model with, through the use of innovative technology, interprofessional collaborative care continues after discharge until the patient is seen by the primary care provider.
The Donald W. Reynolds Foundation is a national philanthropic organization founded in 1954 by the late media entrepreneur for whom it is named. The Foundation has committed over $215 million dollars to improving the lives of elderly pelple throughout the United States. KUMC won a new Reynolds grant as a "Next Step Initiative" targeted to build on accomplishments for previous Reynolds funding from 2008. The goal of this new grant it to improve physicians ability to work with other health disciplines in teams and to provide better care for older adults. Dr. Dan Swagerty will lead an interprofessional team of faculty working to provide new IPE efforts in the upcoming year. The funding is for $1 million dollars over 4 years to support IPE programing with KUMC students, residents and KU Hospital clinicians. Since 1930, the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation has worked to improve health care in the United States. Founded by Kate Macy Ladd in memory of her father, prominent philanthropist Josiah Macy Jr., the Foundation supports projects that broaden and improve health professional education. It is now the only national foundation solely dedicated to this mission.
