Centennial: The One Hundred Year History of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, 1905-2005
An exhibit in the Clendening Library foyer, “Centennial: The One Hundred Year History of the University of Kansas School of Medicine, 1905-2005” is part of the centennial activities. Panels depict milestones in the school’s history, plus artifacts owned, used or invented by Kansas physicians. The exhibit continues on the medical center campus through the end of the year.
“It seemed only fitting that we take the opportunity of our centennial celebration to reflect on how far the KU School of Medicine has traveled since those early years,” said Barbara Atkinson, MD, executive vice chancellor of the KU Medical Center and executive dean of the School of Medicine. “The school owes a debt of gratitude to those courageous medical pioneers who endowed us with a legacy of leadership that continues to guide and inspire us today.”
This site will keep you posted on upcoming events for the centennial year in the calendar. In addition, please browse in the history of the Medical Center’s first fifty years (Flash), with a list of 100 accomplishments to mark this occasion.
