Developmental Problem Behaviors Clinic
The purpose of this clinic is to provide treatment services to children with developmental disabilities for such problems as temper tantrums, self-injurious behaviors, sleeping problems, toileting issues, noncompliance, and meal-time issues. Generally, families are scheduled for four visits with the first visit being for assessment. More visits may be added if needed. The clinic typically involves the family making visits to KUMC. The assessment visit is scheduled for 90 minutes, with one-hour follow-up therapy sessions. Families will be expected to complete treatment assignments with their child which will be discussed at follow-up. During the follow-up sessions, behavior management strategies will be discussed and modeled for families. This clinic does not provide services for children who require intensive in-home assistance or services. The clinics are scheduled on Thursday afternoons, beginning at 1:00 PM.
