Burnett Burn Center at the University of Kansas Hospital

Outpatient Burn Clinic

The Outpatient Burn Clinic at the University of Kansas Hospital is an extension of the Burnett Burn Center and as such is dedicated to providing excellent burn care and supporting the continuum of care post injury. Our dedicated burn center team understands the physical and psychological impact of burn injuries and maintains a focus in restoring total well being to burn survivors while maximizing physical function as well as psychological adjustment.

The Burnett Burn Center Outpatient Burn Clinic is designed to meet the special needs of the burn patient. We provide a friendly, supportive environment staffed by a skilled, caring and knowledgeable team that includes physicians, nurses, therapists, technicians and a care coordinator. Consultation with other support services is available to reach optimum patient outcome.

Once a patient has been discharged, the Outpatient burn clinic provides on-going clinical support to complete the healing process. The services provided include wound care for post discharged in-patients and for patients that require specialized wound care but do not meet criteria for admission to the burn center. Services include wound care and management, scar management/compression therapy, care coordination, patient/family education and community outreach.

The hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday from 8am to 4pm, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

To schedule an appointment please call 913-588-5475.

Case Managers or those requesting community outreach may contact our Care Coordinator Johanna Ricci, RN, BSN, CCM at 913-588-5256.
