Call for Applications

ANNOUNCEMENT:  POSTDOCTORAL FUNDING IN WOMEN'S HEALTH RESEARCH

The University of Kansas BIRCWH (Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health) K12 Program announces the availability of a one-year postdoctoral award of $50,000 for an individual doing basic or clinical research in women's health.  The postdoctoral award is supported by an institutional commitment to the BIRCWH program at KUMC and can be used to provide salary support and/or funds for research. The goal of the national BIRCWH program is to grow the US workforce of researchers in women's health.  For more detailed information on the Kansas BIRCWH K12 Program, please visit the links at the left.

  • Letter of intent (not required, but desired): Wednesday October 15, 2014.

  • Award Notification: Friday, December 19, 2014  
  • Award Start and End Date: January 1, 2015 - December 31, 2015

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Clinical doctorate or Ph.D. equivalent
  2. Postdoctoral mentor a faculty member in the School of Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing or    Pharmacy at the University of Kansas (Medical Center, Kansas City and Wichita; KU-Lawrence)
  3. The applicant must be a United States citizen or non-citizen national, or have legal admission into the United States as a permanent citizen.
  4. New and existing postdoctoral fellows may apply; however, the work proposed should be able to be accomplished in the one year period.

Please submit specific aims (1 page), a proposal that includes a timeline for the year (5 pages), budget (1 page), references, a letter from your postdoctoral mentor verifying that a position is available with supplemental salary or research support,  and a current CV ELECTRONICALLY to ekerling@kumc.edu.
