Interest Groups

KUMC AUXILIARY INTEREST GROUPS

Interest Groups are a way to expand your knowledge and your friendships within the Auxiliary. Seven current groups are listed below, with two possible ones needing a few more participants to begin a group. To participate in any group you must be current in your Auxiliary dues. You may join anytime during the year just by calling either the coordinator or the Interest Group chairperson. Some of the groups are inactive during the summer months of June through August.

CURRENT GROUPS

Daytime Book Group..................................................... Roselle Poisner (913) 317-8237

This group meets at 1:00 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month in members' homes.  Books are chosen by consensus and a volunteer agrees to research the author and lead the discussion.

Bridge................................................................ Marilyn Lucas/Pat Stein (913) 400-3307

Members meet at 1:00 p.m. at the Landon Center for party bridge on the fourth Thursday of the month.  No lunch is provided.  Members need to be at least average party bridge players.  This is not a learning group.

This group meets at 1:00 p.m. on the third Monday of the month. Members bring their own needlework project to work on while enjoying tea and fellowship.

Members meet at 11:30 a.m. on the second Monday of the month. The group eats at various restaurants, often close to the Medical Center to accommodate members who are employed there.

Recipe Tasting/Exchange Group........................................... Dana Ator (913) 262-7053

This group meets at lunchtime on the third Monday of the month (may be changed by agreement) in members' homes to taste, exchange and discuss recipes.

This group meets in the evening about 6 times a year in members' homes, with the hostess providing the main dish and other participants bringing side dishes. Both singles and couples are invited to join.
