The Projects Committee of the KUMC Auxiliary is again asking for your requests for funding of appropriate projects during the 2009-2010 fiscal year. The deadline for requests is Nov. 1, 2009.

KU Med Auxiliary Project Funding Request 2009-2010

The Project Should:

  • Benefit KUMC patients, employees, students, or staff.
  • The project description should follow the format for “KUMC Auxiliary Project Funding Request.” See attachment. Be specific as to items requested, costs (including shipping and handling), suggested vendors for purchase, and/or photos accompanied by prices.
  • Ineligible for funding from any other existing source.
  • Project should be started during 2009-2010 and completed by April 1, 2010
  • The project proposal must be accompanied by a letter of approval from the appropriate Department or Division Chairperson/Director. Projects will not be awarded funding without this document.
  • The project should be $3,000 or less to be considered.

  • Pediatric Family Room

  • Social Services for Patients and Families

  • Children’s Playroom and Playground Equipment

  • An Organ for Spencer Chapel

  • Blanket warmer for BMT/Stem Cell Lab

  • Health Policy and Management: Student professional development meeting

  • Hearing and Speech: Active Expression Student Response System

  • Kirmayer Fitness Center: Gym floor cover

  • KU Pediatrics: Literacy-rich waiting rooms

  • Labor and Delivery: Sleeper chairs

  • Landon Center on Aging: BOLT – Bridging Older Adults

  • Learning with Teens
    Mother/Baby and Nursery: English and Spanish educational
