The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) Audiology Clinic is operated by the Hearing and Speech Department. Its purpose is to serve the community’s hearing health care needs while providing students with opportunities for clinical experience.

Services include:

  • Diagnostic hearing tests for children and adults
  • Infant hearing screening and testing
  • Inpatient audiometric services
  • Hearing aid dispensing. The clinic dispenses a fill range of both analog and digital hearing aids. Both technologies are available in the behind the ear (BTE), in the ear (ITE), in the canal (ITC), and the completely in the canal (CIC) styles. Digital hearing aids provide the most flexibility in fitting individuals with high communication demands in a variety of listening situations.
  • Custom earplugs for protection against noise and water
  • Assistive listening devices
  • Comprehensive cochlear implant program
  • Electrophysiological evoked potential evaluation: auditory brainstem response (ABR), electrocochleography (ECochG), otoacoustic emissions (OAE)

Clinic appointments for either of our two locations can be scheduled by calling 913-588-5730.
