Kansas City ASTRA Program
The KC ASTRA Program is a community-based program with the goal of improving outcomes for people following stroke.
Stroke is one of the leading causes of disability among older adults, currently affecting more than 5.5 million people in the US. In an effort to address this growing problem, rehabilitation researchers and therapists in the Kansas City area are working to discover the best ways to help people recover from stroke.
Research is made possible through the co-operation of local organizations that help recruit stroke survivors to participate in research studies. Coordinated through the Landon Center on Aging at the University of Kansas Medical Center, current ASTRA Partners include:
