| Clinical Special Interests | Dr. Tarver clinically is especially interested in the use of simulation technology in medical education. Simulation allows learning to occur in realistic settings where critical events can be presented repeatedly without compromising patient safety. The application of full-scale patient simulation to medical education is rapidly expanding and will likely play an ever-increasing role in the future. The simulator curriculum of the department is designed to provide residents significant exposure to this exciting educational tool. Dr. Tarver is one of four anesthesiologists that comprise the Cardiac Anesthesia team. He has Transesophageal Echocardiography expertise and has successfully completed the Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography Examination of the National Board of Echocardiography. He is Past-President of the Kansas Society of Anesthesiologists and serves as an alternate delegate to the ASA House of Delegates. He has served as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Anesthesiology. |
