KU Clinical Research Center
KU Alzheimer's Disease Center is located at the KU Clinical Research Center in Fairway, Kan. Designed unlike any other research facility in the country, the Clinical Research Center was made possible through a 1/8-cent sales tax approved in 2008 by the residents of Johnson County and a Hall Family Foundation building donation.
The tax is projected to raise $15 million a year for a venture called the Johnson County Education and Research Triangle (JCERT). Each of three university-backed projects, which aim to advance research, science, education and technology, will boost the Kansas City area's reputation as a leader in the life-science and biomedical fields.
