Dr. Jon Schrage, MD, Internal Medicine chair and professor has been appointed Interim Associate Dean for Veteran's Affairs. Read more.

Karen L. Miller, RN, PhD, FAAN, KUMC Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs and Dean of the KU Schools of Allied Health and Nursing, is one of five women inducted into the KU Women's Hall of Fame.

As part of the weekend festivities for Dr. Gray-Little's inauguration, KU Medical Center co-hosted the annual Street Fair, in collaboration with the Student Governing Council. The event took place on Saturday, April 10th at Rosedale Middle School. Among the activities included were remarks from the Chancellor, free health screenings, a community mural, entertainment, games, food and prizes. The KUMC Alumni Boards and Greater Kansas City Chapter of the KU Alumni Association also participated. Admission was free for families and the proceeds from the event went to benefit the Turner House Children's Clinic.


A major new study of a widely used antidepressant, venlafaxine, could result in a greater understanding of clinical depression and its treatment. The study, co-authored by Sheldon H. Preskorn, MD'74, Clinical Research Institute Chief Science Officer and Medical Director, and Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences professor at the KU School of Medicine -Wichita, is published in the April issue of the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.
