After coordinating her 10 year class reunion in 2003, Cindy once again found the inability to say "no" and landed a spot on the Alumni Board. She obviously enjoys it, because she is still with us. She has recently retired from her pediatric practice to be a full time mom, wife and volunteer. She can be usually be found doing something at her kids’ school or church, and when she has spare moments she is on the tennis courts. She and her husband, Stan Bowling, MD'94 are enjoying the students they have met in the White Coat Connection program, but also are feeling old as they realize how long ago they were students!

Dr. Loveland has been practicing Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine in Lawrence since June '76 (some day he'll get it right). He is married to Mary with 4 married children and 5 grandkids (remember, grandchildren are one's reward for not killing one's own children when they are teens). Chuck is active with various community and KU activities (not limited solely to KU Basketball) and he is actively teaching mostly 3rd year medical students in the office during their 3rd year pediatrics rotation (the kind of faculty the University likes--free. Remember, you get what you pay for.)

An enthusiastic supporter of KUMC, Dr. Sandness is busy in small town internal medicine practice and sadly absent often for board meetings - but optimistic about attendance in the future. In her rare spare time, Phyllis enjoys reading, gardening and watching the KU Men's basketball team.
Brad is pleased to be reconnected with his alma mater some 30 years after his medical school graduation. In the early 1980s Dr. Thedinger was on the faculty at KUMC in the ENT department. Since 1987, he has been in private practice, subspecializing in Neurotology in the Kansas City. The medical school has made substantial improvements in all areas of education. In fact, he sees first hand the quality of training since his son Blair is a third-year medical student.
Carolyn has experienced phenomenal changes in lab work from hand pipetting to automated processing line attached to four automated instruments. She has been a part of the Allied Health Alumni Association close to 20 years. She enjoys Colorado, visiting twin sons and 2 grandchildren, quilting and singing with Sweet Adelines.

Julie-Ann was not 'born' a Jayhawk, having completed her undergrad degree outside the state of Kansas. She did, however, manage to get herself adopted as a graduate student, and vastly enjoys having a winning basketball team. After completing the KUMC Dietetic Internship in '94, she knocked around until finally getting her graduate degree in 1998. To keep her KU connections intact, she works at the Atherosclerosis & LDL-Apheresis Center at KUMC. She joined the board in 2003, and no one has figured out yet how to get rid of her.
After 25 years at KUMC, Moffett is still delighted when both the Jayhawks and the Tarheels go to the Final Four. She is equally pleased to have served on the Allied Health Alumni Association Board of Directors since the organization's inception, almost that many years ago. The loves of her life are her 'smart AND beautiful' daughter and her brilliant and creative music man/rock and roll star. Moffett believes in the Kitchen Fairy, the Bathroom Fairy, the Laundry Fairy, and the Yard Fairy. None have visited yet. She remains hopeful.
Unable to bear leaving the University, Tracie began working in the Clinical Labs Microbiology Department upon graduation from the School of Allied Health, Clinical Laboratory Science Program in 2000. Originally a Pitt State Gorilla, Michael followed his dream of becoming a Jayhawk when he moved to Lawrence and began the steps through the Respiratory Care program at KU. Graduating in 2000, he still works as a respiratory therapist at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. But being indoors all day isn't for Michael. Following yet another dream, possibly every boy's dream, Michael also works as a firefighter/paramedic at the Overland Park Fire Department. As if his careers weren't enough, he still manages to take his wife and 2 daughters to Disney World as often as possible. Michael joined the Allied Health Alumni Board of Directors as a student representative in 1999.

Bob has served on the Board of the Nurses Alumni Association since the early '90's.
As a grad of the 50 year nursing class I have fun serving as President of the Nursing Alumni. I am an avid Jayhawker and would love to see them make it to the Final Four. I retired twice but still enjoy working part time doing patient care and don't miss the stress of administration one bit. I spend what time I have at home with my two cats.
As a long time faculty member in the School of Nursing (43 years), Rita enjoyed celebrating the School's 100th anniversary last year. This was true in spite of several folks assuming that she had been at the School since its inception! Rita is Associate Dean for Student Affairs for the School and in her spare time enjoys reading, needlework, travel with her husband, Jack, and relaxing at home with her two small dogs in her lap.
As a Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Family and Women’s Health, Barbara Latinis Bridges has achieved educating many KU Nurses on all levels! Starched pin stripe uniforms and great classmates are memories from her days as a student. Barbara is ready to be as creative as she participates and lends her ideas to the Alumni Association. We can expect to watch her grow, develop, and become more electronic.
Wayne is n avid Jayhawk fan and has been a fan since high school. He is working on his third career as a nurse and graduated from KUMC in 1993. He is now working on his MSN degree. Katie is serving her second term on the School of Nursing Alumni Board. She worked in Obstetrics at KU following graduation, before entering the world of girl scouts, cub scouts, PTA, etc with their 3 children. Retiring after 15 years with the Shawnee Mission Schools as an elementary school nurse, she now enjoys traveling with her husband, the symphony and theatre, gardening, and keeping up with 10 grandchildren and their sport schedules.
