Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?
Submit your registration form and payment by mail, fax or online. Registration closes on Friday, September 30 at 4:00 pm. Registration reserves your spot in programs that are subject to space availability, so please make sure to register as early as possible. Registrations received by Friday, September 23 will receive confirmation by mail.

Where can I stay? 
We have a list of suggested hotels close to the KUMC campus. Please call the hotel directly to make a reservation. 

Can I bring a guest? 
Guests are always welcome! Please include your guest when you register so we can make plans for them as well.     

What should I wear? 
Dress is casual and comfortable for all daytime events on campus. Attire for class events will depend on the venue.  Please check with your class coordinator if you have questions.  

What does the $15 registration fee cover? 
The $15 fee per registration form provides access to Alumni Reunion Weekend campus and class events. This small fee helps offset overhead costs for Alumni Reunion Weekend including printing, supplies, and event expenses. Additional fees may apply to events where food is served. 

I just want to attend my class event off campus. Do I still need to pay the registration fee? 
Yes. Much planning and preparation go into a class reunion event and the KUMC Alumni & Community Relations office works alongside the class coordinators to make them happen. The registration fee helps us provide your class event with registration support, set up, nametags, giveaways, planning, mailings, and more.     

What is the Alumni Awards Lunch? 
The Alumni Awards Lunch celebrates our 2016 Alumni Award recipients. The event includes remarks by leadership, video presentation, awards presentation, and a buffet lunch. Alumni classese will be seated together. Alumni rate is $15 to attend. Space is limited. 

Once I'm registered, how to I make a change or cancel? 
Contact the KUMC Alumni & Community Relations office at 913-588-1255 or alumni@kumc.edu to make changes to your registration or cancel. Cancellations must be made by September 23 to be eligible for a refund. View the cancellation policy

Where can I park on campus? 
Alumni parking is available in the lot on the southeast corner of 36th & Rainbow. View the parking map. After parking, you will take the shuttle to Registration in the School of Nursing building. Accessible parking is available in the lot, and the shuttle will be able to accommodate wheelchairs.

Do you offer a shuttle service? 
We have shuttle that runs on campus from the parking lot to Alumni Weekend registration from 7:45 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. View the parking map with shuttle stops

Please note: Due to campus construction, all guests must take the shuttle to get from the parking lot to Registration in the School of Nursing building. This is the only option due to sidewalk closures and unsafe construction conditions. 

Shuttle service to class events and other outside locations is not available through the KUMC Alumni & Community Relations office. If you need a ride off campus, it would be best to check with a your class coordinator or call a cab.

What should I know about getting around on campus? 
The KUMC campus is large and it can take several minutes to get from one building to another.  We recommend that you dress comfortably and be prepared to walk. Some areas of campus will be under construction so please use caution, take advantage of the shuttle transportation, and pay attention to directional signs.

What if I need special accomodations? 
To request accessibility accommodations, please contact the KUMC Alumni Relations office at 913-588-1255 or alumni@kumc.edu by Friday, September 23, if possible. Wheelchairs are available upon request. Accessible parking and shuttle transportation are available. If you have special dietary needs and are attending an event where food is served, contact the KUMC Alumni Relations office.  

Where do I check-in when I get to campus? 
The check in & registration table will be open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the School of Nursing Atrium (ground floor, School of Nursing building). Stop by to check in and pick up everything you'll need for the weekend.

Where can I eat on campus? 
Water and coffee will be available in the School of Nursing Atrium near the registration table. Other dining options are available on or near campus. View the dining map.
