School of Allied Health  :  Financial Aid

Financial Aid and Scholarships

Students who are interested in applying for financial aid for the upcoming school year must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) and KUMC documents. Some financial aid grants and low interest loans have limited funding. To be considered for those programs, you must complete your FAFSA by the KUMC Student Financial Aid priority deadline date of February 14, prior to the start of the academic year, in addition to completing the additional KUMC documents.

Students should not wait to be accepted into the program to begin the financial aid process. Even if the admission application deadline for your intended program is after February 14, you are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA and KUMC financial aid documents by the February 14 priority deadline. If you apply for financial aid after the priority deadline, any remaining financial aid will be awarded as available.

University of Kansas students receiving financial aid while on the Lawrence Campus are advised to apply through the KUMC office because financial assistance will not be transferred from the Lawrence Campus to programs in the School of Allied Health.

Even if you do not plan to request financial aid, you are encouraged to file the FAFSA annually (same timeline as above). The School of Allied Health has scholarship funds (awarded in the spring for the next academic year starting in fall) for students based on merit, financial need, or both. Your FAFSA enables us to consider you for all allied health scholarship funds available.

The FAFSA and KUMC financial aid application process must be completed annually. Current KU students must re-apply for financial aid at the medical center. Your total financial aid award package, including institutional scholarships, loans, or need-based aid, will not be finalized until your admission application materials and fee have been received and you have been accepted.

Students looking for more information should contact directly the program they wish to pursue. Additional assistance is available from KUMC Student Services at financialaid@kumc.edu or visit the KUMC financial aid website.
