Office of Grants and Research
The Office of Grants and Research has the resources to guide faculty through the grant submission process, from analyzing the funding solicitation to the actual submission of the application. The OGR pre-award staff is expert in development of application budgets and format requirements of a broad variety of research sponsors.
Typically, OGR begins to work with Principal Investigators no less than 60 days prior to application deadline. Whether in the early stages of developing a grant application or ready to start writing, contact the OGR for assistance:

The operational activities of the office are managed by a full-time director and staffed by an accountant, research assistants and administrative support personnel. The services and resources provided in the Office of Grants and Research help make it possible for University of Kansas School of Health Professions faculty to make advanced, pertinent and award-winning contributions to research.
Pre-Award Services:
- Analyze the solicitation, complete the representations and certifications
- Coordinate the entire proposal
- Develop the budget, whether it’s simple or complex
- Ensure commitment letters are obtained for required matching funds, services or support
- Confirm the subcontract commitments (letters and appropriate F&A agreements)
- Prepare the sponsor application forms
- Assemble the proposal and review the text
- Implement the review and signature process
- Prepare the appropriate number of proposal copies for both the sponsor and the individual investigators
- Transmit the proposal package to the sponsor and track to ensure timely delivery
- Provide assistance with on-line registration and electronic proposal submissions
- Support investigator in response to sponsor Just In Time (JIT) requests
