Maternal and Child Nutrition and Development Laboratory

In the past year, Dr. Carlson was the local organizer for ISSFAL 2008 (see photo below) and made presentations in conferences organized by Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the International Life Sciences Institute North America, the American Dietetic Association Pediatric Nutrition Symposium, Experimental Biology, the University of Massachusetts (photo below), and the University of Amsterdam. A photo of some of our research group taken at the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL) biennial meeting held May 2008 at the Hyatt Crown Center in Kansas City, MO. This was only the second time the international meeting of ISSFAL was held in the US. The meeting was attended by 486 scientists from approximately 30 countries. The 2010 meeting will be in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

November 2008: 3rd Workshop on Omega-3 Fatty Acids

In November 2007, Dr. Carlson spoke at the 3rd Workshop on Omega-3 Fatty Acids in Function Foods organized by the University of Massachusetts  and held at Shanghai Fishery Institute in Shanghai, China.
