Annual awards are available for female college students who are sponsored by one of the 1,900 local chapters of the ABWA. Recipients must be U.S. citizens with financial need. Awards amount, number of awards, and due dates vary from chapter to chapter. The mission of the ABWA is to bring together businesswomen of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities for them to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support and national recognition.

This scholarship program targets women who
work in a paid or non-paid capacity and are recommended to participate in the program by a current Central Exchange member or other business member. Eligible candidates desire to improve professional and/or personal skills through education and mentoring by joining the membership of the Central Exchange.

The Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program, funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was established in 1999 to provide outstanding African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline area of interest. Continuing Gates Millennium Scholars may request funding for a graduate degree program in one of the following discipline areas: computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health or science.
African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American students are eligible if they are a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States, meet minimum GPA requirements, and will enroll for the first time at a U.S. located, accredited college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student.
Candidates must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.

This fund provides scholarships to both entering college and continuing college students of Hispanic descent living in the Kansas City metro area. The LULAC National Educational Service Center (LNESC) of Kansas City is the main distributor of the Greater Kansas City Hispanic Scholarship Fund application. To be eligible students must enroll full-time, show proof of enrollment and family income. Students must complete an application and write an essay. The Mission of LNESC is to provide the highest quality education opportunities. LNESC believes that it is through educational empowerment that members of the Hispanic community will maximize their personal and educational potential in order to become lifelong learners and leaders. LNESC accomplishes this by upholding three core beliefs:
Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) http://www.hsf.net
HSF offers different scholarship programs for students of various educational backgrounds. All applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of Hispanic heritage. Available on a competitive basis to undergraduate and graduate students, this scholarship program is available to full-time students at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico. Interested applicants must have met requirements of undergraduate credits with a minimum GPA.

Established in 1975, the LULAC National Scholarship Fund (LNSF) provides scholarships to Hispanic students attending colleges and universities. Under this program, local LULAC Councils, in partnership with local and national businesses, award scholarships to students in their communities. LNSF is administered by the LULAC National Educational Service Centers, Inc., a non-profit educational organization established by LULAC to provide educational programs for Hispanics and other youth.

The Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City, Kan., is an organization whose membership consists of women representing business, industry, civic, education, health related, service oriented, commercial and other interests in the Greater Kansas City community. The organization exits to foster the common good of both the community and its residents by promoting the strengths of women and their contribution in leadership roles. Their mission statement reads, “Sharing Our Gifts Through Leadership and Partnerships”.
