To be considered for admission into KU's post-professional DPT program, the following are required:
- PT Degree
To enter the program, applicants must possess a physical therapy degree from a program accredited by the Commission on
Accreditation for Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
- 3.0 Grade Point Average
Transcripts must document a minimum overall 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0-scale for Master of Science course work.
- PT License
A current and valid state license to practice physical therapy is required. The license may be from Kansas or other state.
- Current Employment
Applicants must be employed full- or part-time as a physical therapist. Many courses in the program require access
to clinical patient records.
- Technical Ability
Access and working knowledge to a computer with Internet capability will be necessary to complete the program requirements.
NOTE: The KU Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science reserves the right to waive
any documentation normally required and to accept or deny admission whenever it
believes sufficient information exists to make a decision.
International Students
The post-professional DPT program is for U.S. residents only. Applicants who require a visa, or currently reside in the U.S. with non-immigrant status or applying for permanent resident are not eligible.
