For the next class starting in September, the application deadline is February 15. All materials must be received at our office by this date.

Applications received after this date may or may not be reviewed, depending on the availability of unfilled positions. Due to the volume of inquries, we are unable to respond to all applications submitted after the deadline.

PLEASE NOTE: The requirements for admission to this program are very strict and exceptions or substitutions to prerequisites and qualifications are not allowed. This is one of the most frequent questions from prospective students each year and often leads to applications which are immediately disqualified upon arrival. Please double-check all the requirements before making application. Our frequently asked questions may also be helpful.

Before you start the online application

It will be helpful if you have the following information ready before starting the online application:

  • Personal Essay/Summary of Interest
    Please write a brief (2-3 paragraphs) summary of reasons why you wish to enter the nuclear medicine technology program and include future plans or desired employment, career goals, etc.
  • Resume (Suggested, but not required)
  • Professional license, as applicable
  • References: Contact three (3) different individuals who can provide a professional recommendation on your behalf. Past supervisors during employment or volunteer positions are acceptable. The recommendations may not be obtained from family members, friends, etc. Make sure they are willing to submit the reference electronically.
  • Review the Technical Standards and Requirements:
  • English Language Proficiency
    All applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency through either the TOEFL or IELTS testing systems. The test must have been taken within two (2) years of the first semester of enrollment. Results must be provided directly to KUMC by the testing service using ETS school code 6895. Photocopies of scores will not be accepted.
  • Arrange to have one official copy of each transcript from every post-secondary institution, college and university that you have attended, both graduate and undergraduate, sent directly to:

    Note: Students who have not completed all prerequisite courses at the time of application will be required to send a final transcript upon completion.

    International Students:
    An applicant is considered an international student if he or she requires a visa, or currently resides in the U.S. with non-immigrant status, or currently resides in the U.S. while applying for permanent residency. Additional requirements and documentation, such as proof of English language proficiency, are required for international students to become eligible for KU programs. Please review the information for international students before applying.

    International Transcripts: In addition to sending an official copy of each transcript, as above, have your transcripts evaluated by World Education Services OR Educational Credential Evaluators. The evaluation must include course-by-course evaluation, grade evaluation, and indicate the degree earned in U.S. terms (bachelors, masters, doctorate, etc). An official copy of the evaluation is required.
    OR
    Alternatively, you may send a check made payable to KUMC for $25 (U.S.) for evaluation by the KU Graduate Application Processing Center. If this option is selected, the official transcripts must arrive at least 2 weeks prior to the admission deadline.

Online Application and Fee

Applicants must submit their initial application and pay the non-refundable application fee online by the posted deadline.

Applications are not reviewed until all of the requested information is received.
