Students enter the KU Health Information Management program after accumulating two (2) years of college course work, totaling at least 63 hours as indicated below. Since missing specific courses may delay or prevent your entry into the problem, it is strongly recommended students contact the program as early in their college career as possible to ensure all requirements will be met on time.

KU course numbers are provided as a guide. Students from other institutions need to verify equivalent course work will meet the program requirements. All courses are required unless otherwise noted and substitutions or exceptions are not allowed. No grade lower than a C is accepted in any prerequisite course. Students on the Lawrence campus should declare pre-health information management as their major. They also must contact the Health Information Management department for assignment to an adviser.
