Classes commence in September of each year. The application deadline is
February 1. (Recommendation forms and transcripts may be received no later than March 1.) Three to four students are accepted to the program each year, and no assurance can be given that late applications will be considered.

Before you start the online application
It will be helpful if you have the following information ready before starting the online application:
- Personal Statement: A resume will be uploaded with your application, so please have this file saved on your hard drive before beginning.
- References: Have available the names and contact information (including email addresses) of three (3) individuals who can provide a professional recommendation on your behalf. It is preferred that college instructors provide these recommendations, but past supervisors during employment or volunteer positions are also acceptable. The recommendations may not be obtained from family members, friends, etc. . Make sure they are willing to submit the reference electronically, and inform them that they will be receiving an email from “KU Medical Center<help@applyweb.com>” requesting them to submit a reference for you online.

- English Language Proficiency: All applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency through either the TOEFL or IELTS testing systems. The test must have been taken within two (2) years of the first semester of enrollment. Results must be provided directly to KUMC by the testing service using ETS school code 6895. Photocopies of scores will not be accepted.
- Transcripts: Arrange to have one official copy of each transcript from every college and university that you have attended sent directly to KU Medical Center at the following address:

International Students:
An applicant is considered an international student if he or she requires a visa, or currently resides in the U.S. with non-immigrant status, or currently resides in the U.S. while applying for permanent residency. Additional requirements and documentation, such as proof of English language proficiency, are required for international students to become eligible for KU programs.

International Transcripts: In addition to sending an official copy of each transcript, as above, have your transcripts evaluated by World Education Services OR Educational Credential Evaluators. The evaluation must include course-by-course evaluation, grade evaluation, and indicate the degree earned in U.S. terms (bachelors, masters, doctorate, etc). An official copy of the evaluation is required.

Alternatively, you may send a check made payable to KUMC for $25 (U.S.) for evaluation by the KU Graduate Application Processing Center. If this option is selected, the official transcripts must arrive at least 2 weeks prior to the admission deadline.

The application fee is paid when you click SUMBIT from the online application. Applicants can pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or by Electronic Check. U.S. banks only. Application fees are non-refundable. Electronic checks will be held for approximately six business days while the check clears.
Applications are not reviewed until all of the requested information is received.
