Thermal Stressors |
Temperature, humidity and radiant heat all contribute to the body's ability to manage heat loss and gain. These should be considered when measuring the potential affects of heat and cold on the human body. Instruments have been developed to measure the wet bulb globe temperature (WBGT). The equation below is used to determine the WBGT. WBGT = 0.7 natural wet bulb temp + 0.2 black globe temp + 0.1 dry bulb temp Go to the references page for thermal
stressors for additional information and an on-line calculator for WBGT. |
