SENIOR  INDUSTRIAL  HYGIENIST

 

 

A employee-owned international consulting firm with offices worldwide seeks a Senior Industrial Hygienist for one of its offices located in northeast Florida.  This well-established consulting firm specializes in ground engineering and environmental services.  In recent years, they have expanded the range of services provided to meet the increasing needs of clients including EHS compliance, remediation, and due diligence services.  The firm assists clients with both large, complex and small, focused projects.   The primary business sectors served by the Florida office are in the manufacturing, power, petroleum, land development, waste and water resources sectors.

 

Industrial Hygiene services provided by the firm include:   general IH issues, Asbestos/Lead, Contamination Evaluations, Environmental Issues, Mold, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation/Noise Reduction, Occupational/Health and Safety Management Systems/Auditing/OSHA Compliance and Risk Management.

 

Clients include manufacturers, municipalities, transportation, citrus producers, pulp and paper, etc.

 

 

Position:   The Senior Industrial Hygienist will support the IH team, develop clients with industrial hygiene and safety related needs, mentor junior staff, and manage IH projects from proposal stage through final technical reports.

 

 

Qualifications:  A candidate should have at least 10 years of IH related experience in indoor environmental quality---environmental microbiology and asbestos, noise and lead-based paint management.  Some experience should be in a consulting capacity,

having managed IH projects and developed new business opportunities.  He/she should be a knowledgeable professional with experience in leading a team of skilled professionals and technologists, have experience in developing positive client relationships and deliver the highest quality of service.  A bachelor’s degree is required with a graduate degree preferred.  A CIH certification is required.  Asbestos licensure is also desirable.   A candidate must have excellent communication skills and be computer literate in order to be successful in this environment.

Job Description:

• Develop and assist with implementation of programs, policies, procedures and processes for monitoring and preventing chemical, physical, and biological occupational stressors (including chemical exposures, noise, heat/cold stress, and ergonomics).

• Work with HSE professionals to minimize/prevent work-related diseases associated with work areas, locations, and operations.

• Develop, implement, and monitor health standards and programs in accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Provide expert knowledge on chemical, physical, and biological hazards and provide insight on how to mitigate the risks associate with such hazards.


Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

• Professional knowledge of industrial health and hygiene regulations, experience in performing field assessments and sampling, and the ability to create and deliver quality training.

• Good computer skills, oral and written communication skills, and research skills required. Position will require 30 – 50% travel.

• Minimum of five years experience in industrial hygiene field with an undergraduate degree in science or engineering field, or three years of experience with a MS in industrial hygiene or related field.

• Certification (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or advancement towards certification preferred.
